As students enter high school, their work becomes increasingly independent. High school courses are designed for students targeting a four-year university, a local community college, or an immediate career.
Many high school courses are offered at two levels: on-level and credit recovery.
In both course levels, students:
- Learn grade-level content
- Complete coursework that might require writing or research projects
- Tackle problems that require analytical thinking

Real Support for Real-World Opportunities
At ODLS, students can discover their strengths and take important steps toward their future—whatever that future may look like for them. ODLS students can:
- Earn college and high school credit on select courses with Ohio’s College Credit Plus program2
- To be eligible for the program, students must be a currently enrolled in grades 9-12, have completed at least one semester with ODLS3, and meet the admission requirements of the participating college or university.
- Take an advanced computer science course through the Ohio Computer Science Promise
- Develop marketable skills through hands-on and project-based learning
- Get virtual guidance from dedicated career coaches on financial aid, college prep, creating résumés, networking, interviewing, internships, and more!
1The K12 high school catalog is a complete list of the high school courses K12 provides. While ODLS offers a comprehensive selection of courses, not every K12 high school course is available to ODLS students. Information on specific courses of study and available electives is provided upon enrollment. For details, please speak to an enrollment consultant during the enrollment process.
2The cost of college courses varies by college and course. Some college courses may be offered at a reduced or a waived tuition rate. Depending on the college and the course, students may be responsible for textbooks and other materials as well as incidental fees specified by the college or university.
